Gadget Kid

My 19 year old son just told me about this cool electronic gadget you can buy that you attach or aim at nonworking light bulbs on a strand of Christmas lights. It analyzes and finds the burned out bulb. I looked at one at QVC. You have to aim the tool at each light, and it lets you know which is not working.
The tool costs $15.92 plus 3.97 shipping and handling. And not only that, but then I'd have to actually use it!! Yeah right!
I think I'll go buy me another set of $2.99 lights from Wal-Mart.

I got my one just like that as a stocking stuffer last year - after we fought with a bunch of strings of lights while decorating our tree. But it took my 16 year old's smart boy friend come over and figure out how to use it for us. He LOVED figuring that thing out, and I loved not having to do it. Maybe this boy friend thing has its up sides to it?

Two Tasks

How hard can it be, I ask? I had two things to do before I put the boys down for a nap. I gathered my keys and the trash and out the door I went, hurrying so that Boo wouldn't be climbing on the baker's rack before I came back inside. Or maybe calling China on my cell phone. Roll, Baby, Roll!

As if I didn't have enough on my plate...(that must be the understatement of the year)I'm jumping in. I was just going to sit back and watch the clues unfold. But I've gotten sucked in! I'm doing this. I love Bonnie Hunter's quilts. They are everything that appeals to me, colorful, scrappy, frugal with lots of great details. I love her motto about "ugly" fabrics, "If it's still ugly, you just didn't cut it small enough!" Once the first clue came out I knew I had to play along. I love green and pink together. It is all over my house in different shades and combinations. My poor husband has to sleep in a froo-froo bedroom. Which he does willingly to keep my happy.
