Quilt in a Day--And a story

At Thanksgiving we had company, good company, the kind of company that doesn't FEEL like company, but more like family. We love them. We are uninhibited when they are around. We sometimes let it all hang out.

While they were here, Bear walked down the stairs and drug his hand absently along the wall as he turned the corner and knocked the candle out of the sconce on the wall. He exasperatedly hung it back in its place and told me if it happens again he would rip the sconce off the wall.

Later that day, our friends and I were sitting in the family room, chatting, enjoying each other's company when Bear came down the stairs a second time, and again knocked the candle out of the sconce. After a Bear-like growl, he ripped the sconce, candle and screws out of the wall. We all sat there dumbfounded and looked at him with jaws dropped and saucer eyes.

"I told you I was going to rip it off." He calmly replied.

So, I told him, I would have to make a quilt to go in that spot, because it’s flat. It doesn’t stick out and get caught on unsuspecting passersby.

I HAD to make a quilt. He made me do it. So, I did. It’s done. A quilt in a day.
What do you think? I can justify anything. Especially a whole day of quilting!

WOW...I am impressed. Obviously you ARE a quilter! Not me...I want to be, but I still have a top that I pieced together 7 years ago!!!! I have the material for the back, and the stuff for the "guts" but I don't know what to do next!
