A New Movie and a New Chapter...

I never go out on Black Friday, it's just too crazy out there, but this year I had some items that I desperately needed at Wally's. While I was there, the $2 movie kiosk caught my eye. There were some great titles there. "Hope Floats", "Pay it forward", "Take The Lead", and "Two Weeks Notice" Love this one, Hugh Grant is a cutie, and Sandra Bullock is just so funny and glamorous all in the same breath.

Ironically, Bear came home with one of his own yesterday. Please keep us in your prayers, this comes at a bad time financially.
We are however, trusting God in all of this. We know that it is not Barry's supervisor who controls the tides. He is not the one who makes the waves stand still nor is he the one who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

We knew when Bear started this job that it was only temporary. He's going to seminary to finish his MDiv. so that he can return to active duty as an Army Chaplain. That is the goal, not spending time in a job that is clearly going nowhere, or becoming so frustrated with the supervisor that seminary study is comprimised.

We know that this is God's will and His perfect timing and we are trusting Him with the outcome. It will be about 7 months before graduation, (take a look at the ticker on top of my page,) and then a short transitionary period. The trial here is staying afloat while all of this happens. We still have a mortgage payment, a car payment and utilities to juggle.

I do like having my husband at home, and if I could just find a way to make money doing that we'd all be happy.

I'm so sorry to hear this - but as you already know, the Lord will carry you through this time. Will be keeping your family in prayer!

Wow, I gotta say, minus the 6 kids, are we living the same life, lol? Hubby is out of work on the civvy side, too, and graduates in May from seminary. Our ultimate goal is to go Active Duty as well, but we need income for the next few months as well. Once he's pinned, there are lots of jobs for Chaplains within the Guard while we're waiting for Active duty orders to go through, but until then, ugh! I feel your pain, sister, and I will be praying for you and yours!

I love your desire to put God in His place...not your husband's supervisor.

Plans are never what we think they should be. I'll be praying for a quick financial pick-me-up.

May the Peace that surpasses all understanding keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus during this time. God has you in his hands at all times, earthly hard times and times of plenty. My dh graduated 3 years ago from Concordia Theological Seminary, MDiv, and is considering active duty Army still... maybe they will meet this summer! LOL small Christian world.

I said a prayer for you as I read this. I know it's hard. My dad lost his job just a few weeks ago and has no real prospects. His mantra is "I am God's tool. He'll put me where He can use me." It's just hard to wade through everything that comes your way until God puts you where He wants you. I'm praying no unwelcome surprises come your way until finances are settled! Much love, my friend!

Ah Mary, we are in the same boat. My dh has been out of work for 6 weeks now. He's union and they are in terrible shape - so bad that they are working on a program to allow their members to dip into their retirement plan. You all will be in our prayers.

I was coming by to wish you a Merry Christmas and am just catching up around here. I am so sorry about your husband's job. I know of so many who are in similar situations. I will be praying for you, too, as I lift them up!

Hope your Christmas day was truly a blessed one!
Love,
K

(And I loved reading about your tea party for the girlies! Too precious!)
