Uh, off again...

I feel like I am the rag hanging in the middle of the rope in a giant game of tug of war. (Great picture, huh?)
Back and forth, tugged here, yanked there, drug through the mud a little, squished by the teeming masses, ripped backwards only to start the whole process all over again.

In order to save what is left of my little brain power, I'm just copying my facebook post, I'm too tired and discouraged to do anything more than this.

"Due to a Department of the Army administrative glitch, Bear's packet did NOT make it before the board!! The next board meets June 23rd. We are slowly sinking...into despair, into debt, into the muck and mire of self pity. The DA is transitioning to a paperless board system, Bear's packet was there and complete, but for some reason did not get transmitted, (along with many other packets as well.) Big DA SNAFU!!

I am so jealous of everyone else who has gone through this process. Why did it seem so easy!? Why is it so hard for us?

Bear keeps saying that we will emerge on the other side of all of this smelling like smoke, but not burned. (Reference to Shadrack, Meshack and Abendigo, in the fiery furnace.) I'm not so sure. I'm trying to trust, but I am so very tired of the hanging and holding on. My grip is slipping.

Why are we forced to sit on the sidelines when everyone else in in the fight, working for the Lord, we sit, we watch, we wait. I'm growing lethargic and lazy, frustrated and frazzled, discouraged and disappointed.

Errrr, shoot, I was hoping your family was not in that group of guys that were caught in the paperless trap... more prayer for you! We had waivers, didn't make the boards and now our orders are all confused, trying to make travel plans for the family out of the parsonage... Our heavenly Father knows...

HE has plans to prosper you and not to harm you...

May you feel Christ's Peace during this struggle. You are not alone, you are HIS child! Praying for the next boards to arrive swiftly!

How awful!! He is holding you tightly, even while you feel all the sinking feelings of despair. Your family will emerge from this trial and there won't even be the smell of smoke!

I'm sorry to hear of your frustrating situation. On a lighter note... This is my first time visiting your blog and I just wanted to tell you that you have a happy looking family. I look forward to reading more posts of you and your family.

Oh, Mary, I feel your pain! Please know that if I were there I would give you a great big hug (and some cookies)!
We're dealing with the packet process to go active duty right now. We've missed TWO boards now due to recruiter error, and I'm just about to lose it...well actually, I DID lose it for a few hours after the last missed board. But then I reminded myself of the process of B going into the Guard...it took 18 MONTHS, one thing after another, and he was so frustrated. But you know what? God put him there EXACTLY when he needed to be to meet the right people, serve the right people, and it was just so very obvious after he got in that God's hand was in all of those delays. So I'm trying to keep that in mind with all the frustration of this process. We, too, are sinking into debt over his under-employment (it's been like a year now), and just really, really need to get him on active duty. We know that we know that we know that it's God's desire for us that dh goes active duty in the Chaplaincy, and He has a plan for us. The same is true for you, dear one...while maybe we can't see why right now, God has his hand in this. Perhaps He allowed Bear to miss his board b/c the wrong person would be judging his packet last time. We don't know, but I do know that our God is bigger than Army beauracracy! Hang in there and know we'll be praying for y'all!
Hugs,
