Hospital Update

Thank you, dear readers for your prayers. Here is a quick update on my family members.

My mother in law, Nana is still in the hospital and will undergo tests today to see where the blockage is exactly and what can be done about it. They may or may not operate pending the outcome of the testing. Pop may move her to a bigger hospital, (they live in a small town, with one small hospital.)

My friend Larry from the food bank is home now and recovering from his 6-bypass surgery last Saturday. I'm going to volunteer today, and I better not see him there! He has a tendency to overwork and not recuperate enough. Last Thursday while he was supposed to be resting, he called 6 times to remind us of something he was sure we had forgotten. "Yes, Larry, we know." "Yes, Larry, you left us a list." "Yes, Larry, Fran will take care of that, she's already gotten it out of the freezer." "Yes, Larry! Quit calling! Go lie down!" "Goodbye, Larry!" See, he's pointing and telling people what to do?

Some people just don't know how to delegate very well. Sigh...

  Whole Wheat Bread-THM Style 2 loaves I have been in the kitchen since I was able to stand on a chair next to my mother. She was my 4-H leader from age 9, and I learned all of my kitchen skills from her.   She was an excellent baker, canning aficionado and superb chef.   Both of my parents felt, as I do, that homemade is best—homegrown even better. 4-H Modeling and the Wardrobe Malfunction

Kristen over at We are THAT family has a blogging carnival going on Thursdays, and she asked for bloggers to share a story from our past, something that won't probably make it into a scrapbook because we can't find our crinkle-cut scizzors or some mouse peed on the pictures or whatever reason. We have orders

We picked up Bear's orders yesterday at the Chaplain's School. We took a very slow walk about 1/4 mile to the school, and found them with one of the school secretaries. We started the process of getting Bear's flight home on the 15th. Then we came back to the room and called the airline which I was to fly with. I did miss my flight, (it was on Monday) but they allowed us to leave the ticket open and reschedule once we get Bear's flight information from the army. Thank you, Lord!! Bear and I were praying hard while we were on the phone talking with Expedia and then the airline. I thought there was no way to recoup any of that lost ticket, shows you what the power of prayer can do. He is doing an Army correspondence training right now at the Chaplain's School library, another couple of Chaplains were doing it, and needed another brain thrown into the mix to figure out some of the questions. He is feeling better, can move around more easily, but is still moving slowly
