We've hit one.

When filling out the enormous amounts of paperwork for his Chaplain packet, my Bear discovered that there is a moral clause stating that a Chaplain Candidate cannot have any bills that are over 90 days delinquent.

Unfortunately, we have one.

We have a 20/80 split mortgage and while my Darling, hard working husband was temporarily out of work between his enlisted stint in the Army over a year ago, and the job from which he was just laid off in December, we fell behind on our 20% mortgage. We were on a repayment plan and fulfilling it, when he was laid off. Now the repayment plan is in default.

Now the Chaplain Packet is defunct.

Ka-bloo-ey.

For at least one year after ALL our past due bills are paid current.

He will then be able to get a moral waiver.

At which time, he will be too old to enter the military as a Chaplain unless he then gets an AGE Waiver!

Not to sound ungrateful; and knowing in my heart that God is still in control over the situation; but we never would have been in this predicament if the Army hadn't said that Bear needed to GET OUT of the military in order to fulfill his requirements to be a Chaplain!

I'm frustrated.

I'm disappointed.

I'm stumped.

I'm tired of this.

Why God, does it have to be so hard to serve where we believed that you wanted us?

Can you imagine what He has in store for your family? Sometimes we're given the nudge to step out in faith, and the end result isn't what we thought we were stepping out for...

We all face these things and wonder What in the World does God have going on now... But He DOES have something going on. We just don't know what it is!

Waiting with you while He reveals that plan in your lives!
I was frustrated when after years of school Heavenly Father told me that I should not go into elementary education. I quit school for awhile and then found the right degree for me a few years later. Everything turned outright. In fact I was led to a better job in the mean time and was able to save money.

That stinks. It's hard. I can't imagine the frustration you're facing right now... I'm really sorry it happened...

Is an age waiver difficult to get? Have you talked to the recruiter (or assessions officer, or whomever your go-to person is) about it? Did they have any thoughts???

Again, so sorry...

I'm sorry. A year ago we kinda went through the same thing, very big kinda. But still, we thought God was going to provide in a certain way so we could do what we thought He wanted, and it didn't work out that way.

Have you talked to whoever about the late bill, considering the state of everything, they might make an exception.

We have hit a wall in service ourselves...a bit different, but yet it is still a wall. I will be praying for you. I know that God is working all around us my bloggy friend. He is working in our lives and I will share more about that in a few days.

I agree with Cheri up top...Can you imagine what He has in store for your family? Sometimes we need to step back and listen to Him. We offer up all kinds of requests (that He already knows we have) but we don't stop to listen to what He wants! We don't need to say anything to Him, the Holy Spirit does that for us...we just need to listen.

HE will show you what's coming...we are beginning to see it for ourselves over here!

God bless you both...I will be praying and listening for you!

Maybe God is trying to tell you that this is not the direction that Barry and your family is suppose to be heading in and that he has something else in store for him. I know when you have your hear set on something and you think that is what is suppose to happen you try your best, but when things like this happen, there is a reason for it. We as mortals are determined on things that we have no control over and that is what we need to work on. We sometimes think that is what God wants us to do, and sometimes it is us that wants it so we concince ourselves that it is God that truly wants it and that may not be the case. I am not saying in any way that is the case here, I have just been doing a lot of thinking on my own lately and these were my thoughts and thought I would share them especially because of what you are going through.
God will provide and God will lead, just make sure you are following in the direction he really wants you to go!
Love ya!
